FLAG FOOTBALL REGISTRATION

football

Registration for flag football, ages 5-7, 8-12 years of age, begins February 1, 2019.  Parents may register a child for $10 fee, per child at the City of Atlantic Beach Recreation Department office located in the Adele Grage Cultural Center, 716 Ocean Blvd. from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

The basic rules of flag football are similar to those of football, but instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag from the ball carrier. Like “touch” football, flag football is designed to minimize injuries from conventional contact sports. Games will be played Saturday mornings in March followed by playoff games.

For more information about flag football, contact Dee Davis at 247-4038 or contact the Recreation office at 247-5828.
