Cultural Arts & Recreational Activities Survey!

The Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee (CARAC), in an effort to assure quality recreation programs, has created a survey and would like your feedback. We want to know what events you like, how often you participate, and what you might like us to try in the future. Please take a minute to complete our first-ever CARAC survey here! CDuoARAC SPONSORED- Talent in our own backyard! Brought to you by the City of Atlantic Beach Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee. Enjoy the original sounds by local talent in Gulliford Hall at the Adele Grage Cultural Center.

Whether you write, sing, play or simply enjoy listening to good music, plan on being with us. Hosted by Mike Shackelford, local performers transform Gulliford Hall from 6-8 pm with original music creations. 

Seating is first come-first served for this admission-free, alcohol-free event. Performers should contact host Mike Shackelford at Prepare two original songs of 7-8 minutes combined maximum.

ACOUSTIC NIGHT - July 25, 2021

AN 2Host, Mike Shackelford and friends will be in Bull Memorial Park for a concert in the park under the swaying palm trees with the ocean breeze! It doesn’t get any better than this on a beautiful summer evening as you enjoy the music on your blanket, in your chair or standing around with neighbors and friends, listening to the musical talent of local singers of all ages. Come rain or shine. In event of inclement weather, the event moves indoors at Gulliford Hall in the Adele Grage Cultural Center.

Bull Memorial Park is located on the corner of 7th St. & East Coast Drive. Ride, Walk, Run or Drive, it’s going to be a great evening! Performers should contact host Mike Shackelford at Prepare two original songs of 7-8 minutes combined maximum.

Flag Football Registration Begins August 16!!

Registration for Flag Football will begin on Monday, August 16. Flag Football is for children ages 5-12 and fee is $10 per child. All games are played at Donner Park, 2072 George St.

Movies in the Park - August 21, 2021

movies in the park clipartBring your lawn chair, picnic basket, blanket, snacks and bug spray (just in case) for the new round of Twilight Movies at the Parks beginning Aug. 21. These Atlantic Beach Recreation & Special Events programs are family-friendly; children should be accompanied by adults.

Here are the movies, locations and starting times:

  • Aug. 21Sonic the Hedgehog, Bull Park, 716 Ocean Blvd, 6:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 18The Croods: A New Age, Donner Park, 2072 George St., 7:45 p.m.
  • Oct. 16Raya and the Last Dragon, Russell Park, 800 Seminole Rd., 8 p.m.

Arts in the Park - November 6, 2021, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Arts in the Park is back on for November 6, 2021 at Johansen Park.

Arts in the Park is a great event we enjoy having here in Atlantic Beach. Come out and enjoy local artists exhibiting their fine arts and crafts, with some live music by local musicians, and delicious food. Original art will be available for purchase.

Senior Activities - Gail Baker Center - August 23

Atlantic Beach loves our Senior Citizens! Seniors, if you’re looking for something to do, join us at the Gail Baker Community Center with your friends and make some new ones.

Beginning August 23, we will resume senior activities to include:

  • Arts & crafts
  • Games
  • Social meetings
  • Aerobics
  • Health & wellness
  • And more…

Atlantic Beach is your beach.  Please enjoy our beautiful beaches, keep it clean, and only leave footprints & paw prints behind.

The City of Atlantic Beach allows leashed dogs on the beach, except while in the water. Please respect your fellow beach goers. 

Weddings on the beach require a permit issued at the Recreation Department.

Please dispose of all trash and pet droppings in the trash receptacles provided at each beach access. Respect others while on the beach and be safe. Thank you for making  "your" Atlantic Beach beautiful!
