ATLANTIC BEACH TOUR DE PARKS 2020!

Accompany your family and friends on a wonderful bike ride to parks throughout our beautiful community. 

The ride begins at Russell Park and continues to Howell Park, Bull Park, Johansen park, Jordan Park, Donner Park; then treks to Dutton Island; and concludes with stops at Veteren’s Memorial, Tideviews , and Rose Parks.

ARTS IN THE PARK 2020!

CARAC SPONSORED - Applications for the 17th Annual Arts in the Park will be available October 1, 2019. Artists interested in applying for this juried entry show are encouraged to apply.

Artists say it is the best show they’ve ever done. Be a part of this event that has live music and food trucks along with artistic mediums of Visual Art, Jewelry and Mixed Mediums of Wood Crafting, Glass Blowing, Metal Art, and more.

FLAG FOOTBALL REGISTRATION!

Registration for flag football begins February 3, 2020. 

Co-ed teams, 5-8, 9-12 years of age, $10 fee per child. 

Parents may register online or at the City of Atlantic Beach Recreation Department office located in the Adele Grage Cultural Center, 716 Ocean Blvd. from 8 am to 4 pm, or contact the Recreation office at (904)247-5828.

ART WALK ARTIST RECEPTION @ ADELE GRAGE GALLERY 

Thursday,  February 20th  from 5-8 pm, during The Beaches Town Center Art Walk @ The Adele Grage Gallery in Bull Park...

Make the Adele Grage Gallery, in Bull Park your first/last stop at the Artist Reception, during the North Beaches Art Walk at 716 Ocean Blvd. and meet the featuring artist, Angelica Matev Free and open to the public 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday,  February 20  come rain or shine and enjoy light refreshments and snacks.

Call or text Beachside Buggies for a ride back and forth between the Adele Grage Center and Town Center during Art Walk at 904-887-4441.  They operate on tips only!  Don’t lose your parking spot, just hop aboard.

SONGWRITERS’ CONCERT 

716 Ocean Blvd at 7th Street
CDuoARAC SPONSORED- Talent in our own backyard! Brought to you by the City of Atlantic Beach Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee. Enjoy the original sounds by local talent in the Adele Grage Theater.  Come inside the theater, out of the heat, you’ll be glad you did!  Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Whether you write, sing, play or simply enjoy listening to good music, plan on being with us. Hosted by Mike Shackelford, local performers transform the Adele Grage Theater from 6-8 pm with original music creations. Light snacks and refreshments served.

Seating is first come-first served for this admission-free, alcohol-free event.
Performers should contact host Mike Shackelford at (904) 610-7461. Prepare two original songs of 7-8 minutes combined maximum.

ACOUSTIC NIGHT WITH FOOD TRUCK 

Host, Mike Shackelford and friends will be in Bull Memorial Park for concert in the Park under the swaying palm trees with the ocean breeze! It doesn’t get any better than this on a beautiful summer evening as you enjoy the music on your blanket, in your chair or standing around with neighbors and friends, listening to the musical talent of local singers of all ages. Come rain or shine. In event of inclement weather, the event moves indoors at the Adele Grage Theater in Bull Park.

Come hungry, A Food Truck TBA will be available for dinner from 5-8:30 pm on 7th St. at East Coast Dr.

WILD WONDERS AT DUTTON ISLAND

Do you enjoy the great outdoors and nature?  A hands-on nature program for the entire family will be held at Dutton Island Preserve in Atlantic Beach beginning in March.  

Mike Rossi, an experienced local educator, will present his program  "Animal Adventures!" an interactive and education program that uses story, humor and music to teach children and adults about the wonders of the animal kingdom. Children and adults will be asked to be part of the show by holding select animal and performing certain parts that educates and entertains the audience using animals that are either small mammals or reptiles. It is our goal to provide happy, healthy animals that will enhance and excite children’s interests about the animal world. Here at Wild Wonders we believe "Animals and kids...What’s cooler than that?!"

INTRACOASTAL PADDLE TOUR

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Atlantic Beach by way of paddles (paddle board or kayak)  
@ Dutton Island kayak launch (south end).

Why not explore our local marsh trails and parks by waterway?  Tours begin with a demonstration for beginner paddlers followed by a guided one hour tour.  Enjoy the local flora and fauna, meet new people as you get comfortable with the water routes for future paddling.  The goal of the session is to paddle from Dutton Island Park to Tideviews Preserve Park (depending on skill level and weather).                                                           

 Come enjoy an easy afternoon paddle in your backyard!

Atlantic Beach is your beach.  Please enjoy our beautiful beaches, keep it clean, and only leave footprints & paw prints behind.

The City of Atlantic Beach allows leashed dogs on the beach, except while in the water. Please respect your fellow beach goers. 

Weddings on the beach require a permit issued at the Recreation Department.
