Please keep off of the dunes

KeepOutSign2

The City of Atlantic Beach posted  “Keep Out” signs this week along the dune system following multiple citizen complaints of people walking on dunes, potentially harming the ecological system and jeopardizing our dunes’ role in protecting homes and other structures near the beach.

Please note that the City intends to replace the current signage with more attractive, informative signs.

To be clear, these signs have nothing to do with the recently passed legislation pertaining to beach access, which has no impact on Duval County.

If you have questions, please email or call Deputy City Manager Kevin Hogencamp at khogencamp@coab.us or (904) 477-5325.
