AB, ABE celebrate Arbor Day with ceremony, tree planting

It has been more than 135 years since J. Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day, and his simple idea of setting aside a special day for tree planting is now more important than ever. On April 27, the City of Atlantic Beach and Atlantic Beach Elementary School celebrated Arbor Day with a ceremony and tree-planting. Also, each of ABE’s students received trees of their own to plant.

Special thanks to the amazing AB Environmental Stewardship Committee, Greenscape, Sarah Daye and the ABE Green Team, and AB Planning/Community Development Director Shane Corbin for their work on this important project.

Pictured are the Ross kids of AB planting their trees over the weekend.
