City budget process under way; public hearings on Sept. 10 and Sept. 24

The City of Atlantic Beach is developing its budget for fiscal year 2018-19, which begins Oct. 1, 2018. Public input to City staff and the City Commission is welcome throughout the process.

Here is the FY 2018-19 budget calendar:

April 13 City Commission preliminary budget discussion

July 1 Jacksonville property appraiser tax roll certification to be submitted to the City of Atlantic Beach

July 31 All state revenue sharing estimates are expected to be received by the City of Atlantic Beach

July 9 City manager to propose millage rate

July 18 First of two City Commission budget works; 5:30 p.m.

Aug. 6 Second of two City Commission budget workshops; 5:30 pm.

Sept. 10 First of two City Commission public hearings and votes on the budget/millage rate

Sept. 24 Second of two City Commission public hearings and votes on the budget/millage rate
