Mitchell E. Reeves, Mayor

Mayor Reeves was elected Atlantic Beach Mayor in 2015 and has since focused on lowering taxes, enhancing quality of life and making Atlantic Beach city government more efficient.  Mayor Reeves' extensive involvement in the community and interest in public policy led Mayor Reeves to run and be elected Mayor of Atlantic Beach. The Florida League of Cities recognized Mayor Reeves with a “2017 Home Rule Hero Award”.

Mayor Reeves has lived in the Jacksonville area for 22 years, the last 12 in Atlantic Beach. He has been very involved in his community, serving as the President of the Jacksonville Beach Exchange Club in 2013, and as Division 5 Director of the State of Florida District #13 Exchange Board of Directors. Mitch currently serves on the Board of Directors with the Northeast Florida League of Cities and Florida League of Mayors.

Mayor Reeves is a member of Beaches Watch, and the Beaches Division of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, served as chairman of the Keep the Ferry Taskforce, and is a current Emeritus Board Member of the Friends of the St. Johns River Ferry.

Mitch has been married to Martha Marshall for 26 years. Their daughter Emily graduated with the class 2016 from the University of North Florida.
