Mitch Harding grew up at the Beaches and began his chosen lifelong career in Public Service in 1976 as a member of the Neptune Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
Mitch Harding graduated in 1980 from Fletcher High School and immediately joined the United States Air Force in August 1980.
Harding was awarded numerous distinguished Graduate awards, personal achievement and professional development citations throughout his 24 year military career.
Harding began his Law Enforcement career in 1990 and has progressed to the management and leader ship levels due to his displayed professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to duty.
Harding served on the South Mississippi Regional Crisis Task Force during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and was personally involved in Search, Rescue and Recovery operations during this devastating natural disaster. Harding was recognized for his valor and unwavering devotion to the citizens of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Harding was hand selected by the Chief Enlisted Advisor and promoted to the position of First Sergeant, 403d Civil Engineering Squadron, Keesler Air Force Base Mississippi in 2006. He was solely responsible for the Health and Welfare of the 140 assigned military members, staff and their families, both deployed and at home station.
Harding returned to the Beaches in 2008 and has been a resident of Atlantic Beach on Jasmine Street with his wife of 18 years, Victoria and their daughter Aubree. He moved back to the beaches to raise his daughter at the beaches and to introduce his family to the beaches lifestyle that he had such fond memories of.
Mitch Harding decided to get involved in the 2013 City Commission elections due to his belief that the citizens of Atlantic Beach deserve more effective representation. Harding believes that his leadership and common sense approach brings about a much needed benefit to the Commission and the City Administration. Harding is passionate about his Beaches Community and believes that he is the right person to get the job done.
