Holiday happenings in AB

The holiday season is here (Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!) and there are lots of things happening around us that the City is coordinating or participating in. Listed below are some upcoming events and ways we can help someone have a happy holiday season. Will you please help us spread the good word?

  • The annual Beaches Town Center Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting is Saturday, Dec. 3; the fun begins at 4 p.m. Fun for the entire family, including crafts, entertainment, and photo opportunities with Santa. Visit for info.
  • An Art Reception featuring the brilliant photography of Razvan Balotescu will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Adele Grage.
  • The AB Farmer's Market operates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 (and every Sunday) at Russell Park, 800 Seminole Road.
  • A Holiday Market accepting donations for the City of Atlantic Beach toy drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Sunday, Dec. 4 at Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners, 1071 Atlantic Blvd.
  • A Beaches Town Center-Beaches Go Green Holiday Cleanup will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Prizes will be awarded for the strangest item found and the most cigarette butts collected. Meet at the Atlantic Boulevard beach access.
  • A Songwriters Concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Adele Grage.
  • A Holiday Blood Drive will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 from noon to 5 p.m. in the City Hall Parking Lot. All participants receive a $20 gift card and plush blanket, AND will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card. Let’s have a great turnout!
  • Toy Drive. Help provide new, unwrapped toys for children 12 and under. Toys can be dropped off at Gail Baker Community Center, Adele Grage Cultural Center, or the Atlantic Beach Police Department. The donation deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 15
  • Wreaths Across America, sponsored by the Daughters of American Revolution's Jean Ribault Chapter and supported by the City of Atlantic Beach,  is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Beaches Memorial Park.
  • Luminaria 2022. In partnership with the cities of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty will present this year’s Luminaria on Saturday, Dec. 17; the rain date is Dec. 18. Each luminaria kit is handmade by Pine Castle, a Jacksonville charitable organization that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental differences through opportunities to learn, work and connect. The kits are available for purchase while supplies last through Dec. 17 at the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty office at 375-1 Atlantic Blvd., Atlantic Beach. Kits cost $15 and contains the bags, candles and sand to assemble 12 luminarias. All proceeds from kit sales are donated to AB Cares, No Empty Stockings, Boy Scout Troop #15 and Pine Castle. AB Cares is a City of Atlantic Beach program that enables residents and others to assist City water and sewer utility customers during times of financial need. Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) administers the program on the City’s behalf. Atlantic Beach utility customers may donate to AB Cares with their monthly payment, and anyone may make individual payments to the fund. For information, visit; email; or call (904) 247-5804.
