AB youth honor Beaches legend Sandy Forsyth
The Atlantic Beach Youth Council replaced and rededicated a plaque honoring late Beaches legend Sandy Forsyth at Oceanside Rotary Skate Park in Atlantic Beach. After the original plaque was stolen recently, the Youth Council took the opportunity to memorialize Forsyth’s legacy and thank those who made the Skate Park possible by purchasing a new plaque.
Forsyth was well-loved as founder of Aqua East, a big donor for the Skate Park, and supporter to kids in the community. He was also very active in Beaches Habitat and Forsyth Court in Atlantic Beach is also named for him. He died in 2005. Sandy's family was on hand for the re-dedication.
Meanwhile, the Forsyth family is donating funds to make improvements to the park.
A video of the rededication program, which was attended by many of Forsyth’s family members, can be viewed here.
