Centennial Celebration

On Dec. 4, 1925, the City of Atlantic Beach was incorporated. A hundred years later … Happy Birthday, Atlantic Beach!

What started as Henry Flagler’s railroad branch evolved over the next 100 years. Although the railroad and the 250-room hotel are no longer, multi-generational families have planted roots and stayed. The small town, which began with ~164 mainly seasonal residents became a community of year-round residents. Today, our community is a melting pot of 13,500 residents from around the world.

In December 2025, the City of Atlantic Beach will begin celebrating its 100th anniversary, providing a unique opportunity to reflect on our past and look forward to the future.

The City will hold a series of events and activities that will highlight the rich history and vibrant culture of Atlantic Beach. From cultural events to community gatherings and celebrations, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We want this to be a true community-wide celebration, one that honors our heritage and brings us all closer together.

A Call for Volunteers

Our Centennial events will be a massive undertaking, and we need your help to make them a success. Whether you have an hour to spare or a weekend to dedicate, there are numerous opportunities to get involved. We need people to help with event planning, “day-of” logistics, community outreach, and so much more. Your time and talents are invaluable, and this is a chance to give back to the city that gives us so much.

Volunteering is more than just helping out; it's about building and strengthening the bonds that make our community special. Let’s work together towards a common goal. It makes us stronger and more connected to our neighbors and other families. Let's make our 100th birthday a testament to the spirit of our city. Let’s celebrate our community’s centennial celebration with effort and pride as one whole family!

To learn more about the upcoming Centennial activities and to sign up as a volunteer, email info@coab.us and say, "I want to help AB turn 100!", and we'll be right back in touch. Let’s make this a year to remember -- a year of celebrating our past and building our future together.
