Potential Water System Extension into Neptune Beach

Aug. 6, 2025, Community Workshop: Atlantic Beach Water Supply for Neptune Beach Fire Suppression

The Mayors of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach will co-host a public workshop to discuss the feasibility of Atlantic Beach providing water to Neptune Beach for fire suppression services. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the Commission Chamber of Atlantic Beach City Hall, 800 Seminole Road. This meeting is an important opportunity for residents of both communities to learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and provide feedback on this vital matter. Here's the agenda.

June 2025 Update

On June 3, 2025, the City of Neptune Beach requested that the City of Atlantic Beach provide fire flow protection for property on Atlantic Boulevard in Neptune Beach. Here is the request. The City Commission discussed the request at its June 9, 2025, meeting. Here is the meeting video; the Neptune Beach water discussion begins at about 1:43:40.

June 2023

J. Collins Engineering Associates was tasked with evaluating the technical feasibility of the City of Atlantic Beach water distribution system providing adequate fire flow (within the City of Atlantic Beach system) while meeting the demands of the proposed development of the former Kmart shopping plaza in Neptune Beach. Thus far, that is the extent of the City of Atlantic Beach's evaluation of the potential water system expansion.

A town hall meeting on this topic will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, in the Commission Chamber of City Hall, 800 Seminole Road.
